Frequently Asked Questions

Our at-home whitening fee is $499 and includes your custom-made trays and gel. If you choose, you can augment your bleaching with our in-office boost. The fee for at-home bleaching with the in-office boost is $750 and includes your trays, gel, and 3 in-office treatments. Our whitening system is based on scientific research to make your teeth as white as possible with no sensitivity or discomfort.

At-home whitening is as easy as 1-2-3! Your first appointment is a fast, digital, goop-free impression taken of your teeth. Second, we try in your trays, give you instructions, and answer any questions you have. And third, you wear your trays at night and enjoy your fantastic results! Each appointment in the office is only about 20 minutes. If you choose to boost your whitening with our Kor Max, there is one more in-office treatment which take about 90 minutes.

General Dentistry and More

Dr. Matthews and Dr. Bayley also have the training needed to place and restore dental implants right at our Wilmington, DE dental office. When we know your teeth and gums are healthy, we’ll add the finishing touch to your smile with cosmetic dentistry, including porcelain veneers and teeth whitening.

We’re also proud of the leading-edge dental technology we offer that improves just about every aspect of your experience with us. Technology like digital X-rays and intraoral cameras allow us to educate and inform you about your oral health needs.

Digital impressions, electric handpieces, and nitrous oxide all help streamline treatment and improve your comfort. Using CEREC technology, our general dentist can deliver a beautiful customized dental crown in just one appointment at our Wilmington, DE dental office.

Prevention Is the Key

All the services we offer either maintain your oral health, prevent dental problems from occurring or restore decayed or broken teeth. Prevention is the most important and includes teeth cleanings, dental exams, and x-rays on our end and conscientious oral hygiene on yours. If you practice prevention, we can dramatically limit your need for more costly procedures like dental crowns.

Dr. Matthews and Dr. Bayley recommend dental exams and cleanings at our Wilmington, DE practice every six months—more frequently if you have gum disease or a history of oral problems. These appointments let us check to see if there are signs of cavities or gum disease we need to address. By fixing these problems early on, we can help save you time, money, and discomfort in the long term.

General Dentistry Technology

Digital X-Rays

Dr. Matthews sees a lot when she performs a visual exam, but she can’t see inside your teeth or under your gums. Cavities or gum disease may be developing, and the only way to detect it is with a digital dental x-ray. Seeing these areas is essential because it allows us to identify and fix problems in their earliest stages.

We use comfortable digital sensors in combination with digital x-rays to capture the images we need. With no sharp edges to poke into your mouth, taking dental x-rays is more comfortable than ever before.

Digital x-rays are also valuable because they reduce you to significantly less radiation than film x-rays used in the past. We include the highly detailed images in your patient history, so we have easy access to them as needed. And since no hazardous chemicals are required to develop your x-ray, there is no harmful impact on our environment.

Intraoral Cameras

When Dr. Matthews conducts a routine dental exam, she learns a lot of valuable information about your current oral health. When we share what we learn with you, you become part of the process. That is why intraoral cameras are such a valuable type of technology.

Intraoral photos are taken inside your mouth. A small digital camera captures real-time images that our dentist shares with you on your chairside monitor. As Dr. Matthews moves the camera over your teeth, you’ll see what she sees, and she’ll explain what it means to your oral health.

Since we can save still images of what we see to your record, they’re easily available to monitor ongoing conditions or send to specialists or your insurance company with your permission.
