OMG! Dr. Matthews is amazing! I broke a tooth and being a huge dental phobic was very anxious about not only going to the dentist but finding a new dentist I found the best dentist ever!!! She was able to see me same day I called and was able to get my tooth taken care of with no problem. Her and the assistant Barb were very calming and took all the time I need for questions and to help me relax. I will tell EVERYONE about Dr. Matthews she the best hands down!!!!

Emergency Dental Care Technology

Nitrous Oxide

At Exceptional Dentistry, we are all for patient comfort! We understand that not everyone loves coming to the dentist. We strive to make your experience as anxiety-free as possible.

For those who need a little extra help to get comfortable, nitrous oxide (commonly referred to as laughing gas) is an inhaled gas that can have a calming and euphoric effect. It is administered through a small mask that fits on your nose, and it functions as a mild sedative that promotes relaxation and reduces dental anxiety. Nitrous oxide is very safe, and its effects quickly wear off after we stop the flow of gas. You'll be able to drive yourself home and go on with the rest of your day feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Before we recommend nitrous oxide, Dr. Matthews will be careful to review your medical history to determine if it is a good option for you.
