What is the difference between CEREC crowns and traditional crowns?

A CEREC crown is the ultimate time-saver! There is only one appointment needed for a CEREC crown. At that appointment, the tooth is prepared and scanned digitally. Our highly trained and skilled dentists then design your crown chairside on our dedicated computer. The crown is then milled and cemented once it is perfect! A traditional crown requires at least two appointments. The first appointment is similar to a CEREC crown however you will typically have multiple goopy impressions taken and you will be fitted with a plastic temporary crown to wear for a few weeks until the lab returns your final crown. You will then need another visit to have this final crown cemented.
