We maintain the highest sterilization standards, undergoing voluntary biological testing of our equipment to assure that our instruments are completely sterilized before they enter your mouth. We use the most modern sterilization equipment and perform all routine maintenance to keep it running to CDC standards.
Our dental chairs use their own closed water supply treated with antibacterial agents to assure no bacterial films build up in the water lines. This eliminates chemicals from tap water and bacteria from unknown piping. Our suction lines are cleaned thoroughly every day to prevent bacteria from forming in the system.
Our staff is trained regularly in infection control, occupational hazards, sanitation, and bloodborne pathogens. All biohazardous waste is disposed of via a certified medical waste company so that nothing harmful enters the environment.
Though they are not scientifically proven to be harmful if you already have them in your mouth, we do not place any silver amalgam (“mercury”) fillings at our office out of concern for patient and staff safety. We comply to EPA standards with the use of an amalgam separator to prevent the release of mercury waste from the removal of old, silver fillings into the water supply.
All of our x-ray equipment is regularly inspected and our facility is approved by the Delaware Division of Public Health, Office of Radiation Control. We comply to the ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principle, meaning we keep radiation doses low with the latest digital technology and minimize your number of x-rays to those that are needed for proper diagnosis.
All of our dentists and staff members are CPR certified. We have emergency medications and first aid kits, as well as an AED (automated external defibrillator) in our office to best care for you in case of a medical emergency.
